Curriculum Overview

Our Design and Technology curriculum is carefully sequenced across two rolling cycles to ensure clear progression of skills and knowledge from Reception through to Year 6. Pupils explore a wide range of DT strands including mechanisms, structures, textiles, cooking and nutrition, electrical systems and the digital world. Through practical, hands-on projects that follow the design, make and evaluate process, children are encouraged to work collaboratively, think creatively and solve real-life problems. Children are encouraged to design with care and purpose, working collaboratively and considering how their creations can help and support others. By the time children leave Littlebourne, they will be confident, reflective designers who can apply technical skills and creativity thoughtfully, working collaboratively to serve the needs of others and their community.
